Days 11-15

11. Write a poem that begins with the last thing you can remember someone saying to you today or
yesterday. See if you can use that line two or three times.

12. Turn on the radio to any channel. Write a poem inspired by the first thing you hear (lyrics to a
song, a commercial, etc.)

14. Think of the nicest thing someone ever said to you. Write a poem about a rainy day and something flooding. End the poem with the good thing someone said.

15. Write a poem that describes the wallpaper on your computer or the image on the last postcard you
received.

  1. 11.

    Go home you're drunk
    Your voice is shaking
    Your eyes are shot

    Go home you're drunk
You're speaking like a mad man
    You're walking like the dead

    Go home you're drunk
    Go home you're not well
    Go home you're not you
    Go home you're not here
    Go home you're not ...

I know my voice is weary
And my hair is a mess
    And my knees are weak
    And my eyes aren't clear
    And my ...

    Just go home

  2. 12. (Raining love)

    It's Raining love
    and you walk around
    With a yellow umbrella

    A pair a' yellow boots
And a smooth yellow rain coat
like you're the cover girl of Morton

    Take a second
    breath it in
    Get wet just a little
Stick your hand out just a little

Just a drop you'll never know if you don't try

I know your hair gets frizzy
    Your mascara runs
    Your just too busy
Calm down just have some fun

    Nexting you know you'll
    Slip off your boots
    And jump in puddles
    And sing in the rain

And you can sing in the rain
You can sing in the rain
We can sing in the rain
We can sing while it rains

Just let your umbrella down for a second

    13.

When was it that we first met
When I held you in my hand
    And we would create worlds

Do you remember all the people
All the ones who's noses we messed up
    But they are our creations

now I hold you in my hands
Indefinitely there part of you stays
    A sliver, a reminder

A reminder of childhood of creativity
    Of mistakes of weariness

    You're my favorite pencils
    that's grown short with age
And left a trail of creations

    14.

I really had hoped it would rain
But instead all there was was crying
    And whaling

    And no peace
    Except for the moment
the first tear hit the floor

    It was bright and sunny
    And everyone was laughing
    But not he

    He was rasing oceans
    from his eyes
    Great Lakes and falls
    That put Neptune to shame

    He cried oceans
    That flooded the earth
And as everyone swam to the top for air
    He sat like an anchor

    The whole world was flooded.
His heart like a small glass trying to hold a jug of water

Then a fish swam past him
And rubbed it fin against the boys neck

He had smirked out of laughter
    Then the fish had said
    "Why do you cry
When your smile haults all tears with its beauty"

    15.

    Rings of light swirl
    Elegant as a dear

Round a girl with no face
    Nor feature nor substance

    But a candle she holds
    Where her heart lies

  4. 11. Opportunity

We don't listen to God's voice when he alerts us and tells us
what is to come. We prefer to listen to people and their opinions,
but what about the one who knows it all.

In this 21st century, the young ones tend to sin all week long,
go to church on Sunday and ask for forgiveness,
but then return to their old ways back again, and sin, and sin.

    It's turning into a routine.
But one day, there will be a day, when you won't be able to
ask for forgiveness because God will get tired of your sinful routine.

    12. Fill Me Up

Her voice is like an angel,
who landed on earth to tell the
world that they need more of God.

Sometimes we feels hurt and people
    around us don't care,
but know that God will fulfill his promise in you.

He knows when is the perfect timing,
and He knows when is the perfect time to
    operate in your life,

but you need to open up your heart,
    like a clear glass,
and let God pour His anointing over it,

    so that your passion
    will tell you your purpose,

    13. True Happiness

It's not like it was sin the old days, when I was young.
I use to play outside and have fun with my cousins.
We use to run all night long, and be in shape, and even get hurt,
but got back up again to keep playing.

Kids now a day are different.
They only care about the rising technologies and using it.
    A computer, a cell phone,
but what about the weird and fun crafts that we made to hang up in the refrigerator.
The days we used to be outside and play with the homeless cats,
or watch the big caterpillars become a butterfly,
or hear the bells for the ice cream truck,
and run to the front of our house to get one.

What happened to our childhoods. Will we be the only generation
that had fun without technology. That we use to come
straight from school to have fun with people, not devices.
Maybe we can teach them, where to find true happiness.

    14. Rainbow in the Rain

I wake up hearing the sounds of rain falling down my window,
and smile because I know the flowers will start to grow.
But then I realize that the pot in my balcony is flooded with water.
I immediately put on my yellow rain coat and my black rain boots
because I need to save that little plant. I tried to eliminate the most
water I could, to save the plant, and I saved it by putting it inside of the house,
and I spoke to it, like if it was a child in need of my help.
"You have the most genuine and beautiful smile.
I know that you will be the best friend that anyone could ever have."

    15. A Deep Quote

    I'm different than anyone else.
I don't have a picture of my friends or myself or my family
on my the wallpaper of my phone. I just have a simple picture a quote
that reads: "You had a purpose before anyone had an opinion."
My phone is the first thing that I touch in the morning, since my alarm rings through it.
An everyday that I wake up, I read it.
Just a few words that inspire my entire day
and keep me strengthen in between the negativity of others.
Simple words that to me, mean the whole world.

They told me that I was a funny guy
but personally, I don't really get it.

I don't actively try to be funny
    or depressing
    or annoying

    I just act like myself.
And people perceive it whichever way they please.

    12.
    She depends on you
depends on me, the useless one.

    Never speak of this again
they say the words that chill my bones
    "We depend on you"

And why? What use could I be to them?
    Why would they choose me?
Why would they put their faith in someone
    so weak

    13.
The computer is a wonderful thing
    an endless world of information
    and new things to discover
somehow contained in this thing we call the internet

    14.
It falls from the sky and washes out any sense of joy
the kids lay in front of the window, watching it pour
and it drowns out all their happiness
until one turns to another and smiles
"I don't think rain is all bad."

    15.
    Connected by fate
    and invisible ties
with wishing hour in the back
    lighting their way

and they stand side by side
gripping the ribbon that binds them
    eyes closed
    not knowing what awaits them.
